Three Guitars
Three GuitarsCut paper and colored pencil on bristol board.24"x36"I traced the colored guitar onto a sheet of black construction paper and cut it out. The negative space combined with the two cutouts results in three identical guitar outlines.
Imagine
ImagineAcrylic on canvas board. 12"x16”The paint was applied with a palette knife and masking tape. Each background color was applied with a distinct pattern. The background is inspired by stained glass and uses only cool colors. This is contrasted by the minimalist representation of a guitar in the foreground, which was inspired by John Lennon's signature self-portrait, using warm colors.
Organized Cacophony
Organized CacophonyGraphite on paper and acrylic on canvas board. Part of a hand study.8"x12"Originally titled "Unfinished Piece" this painting is meant to embody the chaos that is a yet-unfinished project, whether it be writing a song, finishing a drawing, or making a PowerPoint presentation for work. The hand is, by far, the most detailed part of the drawn portion and is in the process of drawing the guitar and amplifier, which are little more than outlines.
Swatch Hollow Body Electric
Swatch Hollow Body ElectricAcrylic on canvas board.12”x16” The guitar is gray with white siding against a black background. Each swatch adds a layer of color, and the number of layers determines the color of the intersecting area. Paint was applied with a palette knife, and each color has a distinct pattern.
